For over 20 years, we’ve had the honor of photographing families who visit St. Augustine Beach and Historic Downtown St. Augustine, many of whom return year after year.
Behind the lens, you’ll find Christine Cousart, the heart and creative vision behind Cousart Studios. Christine’s passion for the arts started young and has shaped every photo she takes today.
Meet Christine Cousart
Founder & Lead Photographer, Cousart Studios
Christine was born and raised in Mount Maunganui, a small beach town on New Zealand’s North Island. Growing up near the ocean, it’s no surprise she feels most at home photographing families by the shoreline in St. Augustine Beach.
Her love of visual storytelling began early. At just nine years old, she snapped one of her very first photos—of Queen Elizabeth II herself! That moment sparked a lifelong connection to photography, though it was far from her only artistic pursuit. Christine grew up surrounded by creativity. She learned music theory through the Royal Schools of Music, played double bass in the Tauranga Youth Orchestra, and started painting with oils at age eight.
Even today, when she’s not behind the camera, Christine is often working on a commissioned oil painting in her studio. Yet, it’s photography that gives her an energy she can’t resist—the chance to work with real people, capture real moments, and deliver quick results that feel as rewarding as any work of art.
